Elena + Christian + Matteus

Elena and Chris are my dear neighbours and their adorable baby Matteus is the newest member of our close-knit ‘hood. I was secretly hoping Elena would decide to book a session with me because I so wanted to get Matteus in front of my camera. He’s got these big, blue eyes that widen sweetly when he sees you. And well, I try to get my baby fix whenever possible.

I almost cancelled our mini-session date. It was grey, damp, and a bit rainy but Elena and Chris, who hail from Vancouver, were completely unfazed by the weather and were ready to go. In the end it all worked out. And, I actually like how the southing colours of rain and clouds lend a more intimate and cozy feel to their images. It really suits them..and I got the chance not to “fear” Toronto’s inclement weather as much.

Secretly hoping I get to photograph this lovely family again. xo xo

I so love this one! Matteus was teething and not his usual smiley-self, so we were so happy when this happened. Don’t you want to eat him up?

Matteus’ sweater was knitted in England for Elena when she was a wee-babe herself. I love how the cables on his sweater echo the cables on Elena’s sweater. Love when that happens.
